Charter Week Canary Islands19 February - 26 February 2011, 9. Charterweek Canary Islands 2011, SO LONG Yachting/ECC Yachts.
The Charterweek is organized by SO LONG Yachting and our Spanish partner ECC Yachts. In an One-Way-Cruise, we are going to sail from Lanzarote passing La Graciosa, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria to Tenerife.
The weather in this area is dictated by the North-East Passat. A very dependable, even wind, that can reach up to 8 bft in the nozzle between the islands. In the lee of the islands it goes back to 2-3 bft up to total calm.At the base of our sailing course, we always get the wind from the right side, that is perfect for fast trips. Also the long runs of 50 – 70 sm per day are typical for the Canaries. It is a real blue water sailing area in the wideness of the Atlantic.
 
  The Charter week is a sailing event for charter crews and individuals to discover and get to know the demanding charter area. This means, that specific things should be noted in certain areas: How does one behave in the harbours? Which weather data should be considered?Are there special anchoring technigues,or which nautical literature do I need for this cruise, and which official formalities must be fulfilled? Besides that, there is getting to know your fellow sailors and making new friends,which we strongly support.
