It is one of the most famous regatta in the world. In 2011 it will be held from 24. April to 29. April for the 44. time. The 44. Antigua Sailing Week. About 200 yachts and 1500 participants have taken part annually in the past. The Antigua Sailing Week is famous for its caribbean flair and the atmospherical events in English Harbour, on the beach of the Dickenson Bay or on the Shirley Heights.

Racing Yachts, Charter Yachts, Oldtimer and Luxury Yachts will enter the regatta. They will be devided into 2 racing classes – Division A and Division B. In the Division A you find the Racing Yachts and Racing Catamarans. In the division B you find the Performance Cruiser, Yachts, Charter Yachts, the international Dragon Class and Catamarans.

A feeder regatta from Guadeloupe to Antigua will take place on 22. April. You can also take part in that with your Charter Yacht.

Terms of participation

The Charter Yachts belong to Division B. Sails for low wind e.g. blister, genaker, spinnaker or spinnaker-booms and a 2nd headsail are not allowed. The yachts must have a C.S.A. License certification and there must be a registration of the skipper and crew. Both can be taken care of by us.

The participation in the races is at one's own risk. There have to be at least 3 crew members on board who have sailing experience. Exclusively the local organising committee is responsible for the program of the Antigua Sailing Week (races, programme framework, etc.)

Course of the Regatta                                                                                                 Registration: Thursday, 21st – Saturday 23rd April at the organising committee in the Sailing Week Village in Nelson's Dockyard. There you will receive bow sticker, regatta number, classification flag and the skipper briefing pass.

The first skipper briefing will be on Saturday, 23. April at 8 a.m. For that purpose you need to show your pass, which you received at registration.

The first 3 yachts of the different bareboat classes, which will be determine by Thursday evening, 28. April, are going to sail the race on Friday, 29. April, in the Gold Fleet. The rest is going to sail in the Silver Fleet. The winner of the Gold Fleet will be the bareboat champion after calculated time.
