Area information
Blue water sailing on holiday around the Canary Islands is a real adventure. Long distances between the islands, steady winds from the North-East trade-winds, deep-sea fishing for Bonitos and Doradas are some of the highlights in this area. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote are reachable from every Airport.

Everywhere it is possible to charter sailing yachts as bare boat charter or charter with crew.

Those of you who want to have the real Transatlantic Feeling,for example should sail the 300 SM from Tenerife to Madeira.

Suggested Sailing-Routes

The North-East trade-wind dictates the route. Therefore we advise One-Way-Cruises in this area. To cruise against the trade-wind is as a rule not possible.

One-Way La Palma - Tenerife, 1 week, ca. 282 nm


Your cruise begins at Santa Cruz de la Palma. 1. You sail towards Los Gigantes on Tenerife. Then you sail to Valle Gran Rey on La Gomera and on to El Hierro. From La Estaca or La Restinga on El Hierro, then sailing on to the South-point of Gran Canaria, to Puerto Mogan and from there to Santa Cruz on Tenerife.

One-Way Fuerteventura – Tenerife, 1 week, ca. 275 nm

Your cruise begins at Morro Jable on Fuerteventura. 1. sailing towards Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. Then you sail to marina San Miguel on Tenerife and sail round the south of Tenerife to La Gomera. From San Sebastian it goes on to the South-point of Gran Canaria, to Puerto Mogan and then to Santa Cruz on Tenerife.

One-Way La Gomera – Tenerife, 1 week, ca. 267 nm

Your cruise begins at San Sebastian on La Gomera. You reach La Gomera from Los Cristianos with the ferry. You sail to La Palma and then to El Hierro. After that when the wind conditions are right it is on to Valle Gran Rey on La Gomera. To Puerto Mogan on Gran Canary you can sail a night-cruise. Then with reduced wind force sail on to Santa Cruz on Tenerife.

Tenerife – Tenerife, 1 week, ca. 280 nm

Your cruise begins at Marina del Atlantico/ Santa Cruz on Tenerife, sailing along the east-coast southwards to Los Cristianos/ Tenerife. from there you sail to La Palma and afterwards to San Sebastian on La Gomera. From La Gomera you sail on to Los Gigantes on Tenerife and to Puerto Mogan/ Gran Canary. The last stage of the journey with reduced wind forces back to Tenerife.

Airports on Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canary, Lanzarote. We can arrange your flight plans for your charter holiday. If you travel by plane, we can also organize the transfer to your departure base. Price upon request.

Take Part in our SO LONG Yachting Charter Week Canary Islands 2010!
We sail with several yachts ONE-WAY from Gran Canaria over Fuerteventura, El Hierro and La Gomera to Tenerife. The date is:

20.02.2010 – 27.02.2010

The yachts are from the ship yards Jeanneau, Beneteau, Dufour and Bavaria.

Tell us the number of persons for your crew, your preferred type of yacht and if you will only sail the Charter Week with us or if you would like to sail one or more weeks longer. We will be happy to quote you a price.

Also as a single or with two or three other people you are always welcome. The cruise fee per person is Euro 495 plus additional fees for board cash and flight costs.

During the different stages there are numerous possibilities and enough time to evaluate the days sailing or experiences and this exchange of information between the crews of the yachts is either held in a restaurant or a gathering on board one of the yachts.Making it a great way to get to know one another.

You get to know other sailors and get new contacts. Through this maybe a new charter crew too. – Today you booked as an individual – and the next Charter Week  you can book with your own crew on your chartered yacht.

The Charter Week begins with a Welcome Party and naturally finishes with a Good Bye Party. You are invited from SO LONG Yachting and our Spanish partner.
