Castelnaudary / Homps / Castelnaudary: 162km, 62 locks, 42h journey time approx. Boasting the 'cassoulet', the famous bean stew, where you begins the journey in Castelnaudary. Passing by sycamore trees, on Trebes an area for wine, you can reach the pretty port of Homps. We recommend a visit to the nearby Cathare village Minervois. An interesting point on the way back, is the fortress city of Carcassonne.

From Argens the Canal du Midi meanders by a typical Mediterranean landscape to Beziers, the birthplace of Pierre-Paul Riquet (builder of the Canal du Midi). Enjoy the famous stair locks from Fontsérannes and the Channel Tunnel in Malpas.
