Area information
The variety of lakes and waterways between Mecklenburg and Brandenburg offers an unforgettable houseboat holiday. Nature Reserves are home to unique flora and fauna. Crystal-clear lakes, with a visual depth in some cases up to 12m, invite for swimming and fishing. Following are some suggested routes.

Suggested routes

1 week round trip 
Lübz /Mirow/Luebz: 190km, 10 locks, 30h journey time approx. Beginning of the route is the pretty medieval town Lübz. On the Müritz-Elbe-Waterway you reach the lake Plau and the lake Müritz. A wonderful nature reserve is there to discover. Don't forget to bring your binoculars! A recommended highlight on the way back is the magnificent Bolter canal.

1 week round trip
Potsdam/Bad Saarow /Postsdam: 230km, 10 locks, 32h journey time approx. The Teltower canal leads to the Wannsee for a short pause to go swimming. On the Spree you cruise through the middle of Berlin passing many luxury villas, the Tiergarten, the buildings of the Federal Government of Germany. We recommend a trip on the Müggelspree.  At about 10 km you reach 'Little Venice',with an extensive network of small waterways that you can explore with a dinghy.

3-Day One Way
Marina Wolfsbruch/Jabel: 65km, 4 locks, travel time about 16h. crystal-clear water for all types of water activities awaits you. Beautiful cities like Mirow and Waren invite you to explore them. In Jabel you can see a 300 year old yew tree.

Licence/driving conditions:
For the German inland waterways normaly a licence is required. Nevertheless, you need for the crafts of our partners no boat license (see exception below). If a licence is not available, you will receive after a detailed briefing a charter document it is called 'Charterschein' for the duration of your stay. With this charter certificate, you may go anywhere with the houseboat. 
The lake Plau and the lake Mueritz has to be crossed directly along the buoys and at a wind speed of not more than 3 Beaufort.

Exception: In the case for the area in Brandenburg, from Zehdenick direction Spreewald and Berlin, is a normal inland waterway license required.
