Area informationIn the south of Ireland you cruise on the Shannon, the longest river in Ireland. In the north you are traveling on the 63 km long Shannon-Erne-Waterway route. Ireland is a paradise for fishermen and golfers. A country with crystal-clear lakes and rivers and green landscape. A land of legends and mysteries. Traditional pubs with Celtic live music invite you to linger a while.

1 week round tripPortumna/Banagher: 128km, no locks, travel time about 12h. Portumna has a castle and a national park to visit. Cruise in southerly direction to Terryglass and continue to Garrykennedy, Mountshannon and Scarriff. Here you will pass Holy Iceland – known as a site of early Christianity – and a sigh not to miss is the Cathedral from the 13th century in Killaloe.

Carrick-on-Shannon/Ballinamore: 220km, 12 locks, approx. 30h journey. Take the modern Shannon-Erne Waterway and the Lough Allen. Visit Leitrim and Drumshanbo where you will find famous fishing grounds. At Ballyconnell it goes into Lough Erne known for its particularly tranquil waters.
